Who is Tejas Padekar?
Tejas Padekar is an entrepreneur based in Nashik, India. Ever since his childhood, he’s been involved in his parents’ business at various levels. Some of his parents’ business ventures include:
- Liquid Petroleum Gas Distribution (for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.)
- Advertising (Padekar Advertising Agency)
- Software Development and Training (Padekar Computers Pvt. Ltd., Aptech Computer Education, Nashik and Nashik Road branches [1992-1998])
- Data Digitization Projects (Padekar Computers Pvt. Ltd. for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, India, and Essar Oil)
- Sales and Distribution (Padekar Distributors for Reliance IndiaMobile and many more)
Tejas Padekar received his Bachelor’s degree for Computer Engineering from K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research (formerly, K. K. Wagh College of Engineering, affiliated to Pune University). He graduated with First Class in the batch of 2005.
After completing his Bachelor’s degree, Tejas immediately moved to Los Angeles, California, USA for pursuing his Masters degree in Computer Science at the prestigious University of Southern California.
While studying for his Masters degree, Tejas started interning at Wind River Systems Inc. (Now a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation) in 2006.
Interning full-time and part-time for one year while completing his Masters degree, Tejas took up a Full-time Engineer position at Wind River Systems Inc in July 2007.
While working at Wind River, Tejas worked on various technologies with Clients from the Satellite Television Industry, and then the High-Definition Television industry.
Tejas has worked on developing Software to automate Set-top box firmware and User Interface testing and development. He has also worked on creating web-based software for developing User Interface Specification and parsers to automate the generation of test scripts based on the client’s test specifications.
After this, Tejas worked with a major US-based HDTV manufacturer, microprocessor manufacturer and a major Web Services company to develop the Server Software for their HDTV Systems.
The HDTVs would use the Server to retrieve firmware updates, send error logs and for authentication services for use by 3rd party clients. The also provided a novel method for providing customer support, where the technician could connect to the customer’s HDTV over the Internet and diagnose and resolve issues.
In 2009, Tejas returned to India to pursue new ventures and opportunities.
